Initially, there was a $30 fee for the ESU program.

Now, users have two options to get these updates for free:

An enrollment wizard will be available starting in July and expanding in mid-August to help users choose their preferred method. It’s important to note that the ESU program only provides critical security updates and will not include new features, non-security updates, or technical support. This change comes after the unpopular decision to end Windows 10 support, especially since many older PCs cannot upgrade to Windows 11 due to strict hardware requirements.
